Liverpool trip

Liverpool wasn't all that bad even though the weather cold and very windy we still had a good time there is always something to do in Liverpool and most of it FREE
The trip in was very pleasant we had one of our friends join us for a week so I was able to show off my knowledge of the Dock system and the interesting sites you pass. I love being a big head???
And last Wednesday my Brother Kieth joined us fro the trip back he is a knowledgeable as me on the Docks  so I just say nothing..
We are now back in Scarisbrick Marina for the Easter weekend its saver here the waterways are the same as the roads on a bank holiday full of weekend drivers so to let them have a great weekend of bashing boats we tend to hold up and do a bit of fishing its quieter
Today of course being Easter Sunday it was mas big day in our calendar one of the hymns chosen today was Lord of the Dance and at last I got a chance to put the Guitar down and play my Bordhran
it sounded ok to me but I'm not to sure that elders were to keen but hey its Easter sunday you have to make a noise and sing alleluia.

We will take the boat back to our home mooring on Tuesday we may just keep this great weather until we get back and then its tidy up get the boat ready for being left alone for 12 weeks (except for the boats each side keeping an eye on things and our Mat spending some time on her

More news to come of our forthcoming trip to Australia

God Bless
happy Easter

Here we go again

Hi

That's it the first cruise under our belt, I know it was only a three day quickie into Liverpool but its a good tester to make sure that everything is still working and it was everything was fine so all that winter maintenance paid off. There has been a fast improvement to the canal between Magul and Liverpool lots of trees cut back and hedges trimmed though around Bootle the rubbish is starting to mount up again its is no different from any other large town or city, people just use the waterway as a rubbish tip WHY.
Spring has arrived quite early all the wild fowl are ferrying chicks up and down all the trees are in bloom blossom is everywhere especially up my nose Oh I love the spring but it also gets up my nose literally.
The moorings in Stanley Dock are almost empty  there are only about six boats in I have no idea why the moorings are really good and free with free electric. the Dock area is full of things to do even for the kids Museums, Galleries, fun fair, Shopping, good pubs good food and night life All you need to enjoy it all for free is a BOAT.

sending the usual pics of our mooring and the views from the boat

God Bless

Hello again

Hi everyone

Yes its me I'm back contrary to all the rumours I have not had a brain collapse, been detained by the civil or military police, (though I could do with the rest) Noreen and I are still married (just celebrated our 50th last month. glad to get that out of the way. tow path gossip its fantastic isn't it

I have just been rushed off my feet most nights I am snoring by 20.30 completely in a zzz zone though I am then awake by 03.30 working the days list. HOWEVER its better than the alternative. I wanted all jobs completed by April 1 I managed that well it was April the 3 but hey who cares.

Tues we are back on the canal only Liverpool for a week so that's like 6 days sailing 3 days in and 3 back with a week in the Pool just to start the season off Then its another long haul flight to Australia
My Sister and Brother in Law made room in their busy life for us. They are really wonderful people Mary has organised a trip up to the Northern Territories looking for the big crocks ? Noreen and are so blessed with our friends and relations
We set off in May 16th I Hope and Pray that by the time we get back BREXIT will be a bad memory part of our history a bad part. How a government can take two and a half years of discussion to come up with nothing what a load of ------------ well that's enough we must all be feeling the same if you are out or in it makes no difference Westminster is just full of a load of wasters LETS just hope it ends soon either way I no longer care.

We survived the storms a couple of nights became a bit hairy with flying debris I maintain you can't tie everything down something will always come adrift But our losses was just one mat off the stern so we did ok. Water levels her have been all over the place we are up and down by 6 inches every other day it all depends on the flood warning and how much water they can shift down the Ribble

All the family are doing ok in fact at the moment the are thriving as much as anyone can in this climate of uncertainty but with our spirit and tenacity we are all getting by and with the grace of we will continue to do so.

Marina life is as always, interesting I have said it before they should start a soap on it we have Nice people, happy people , miserable People, people who constantly moan about everything People who would give the shirt off their back and those who would nick your nickers off the line in fact the community is a great slice of life and we love it.

Keep an eye on the blog as we are off traveling on tues I will have some thing interesting to talk about

May Gods blessings be with this Easter
